Situation

Our client contracted Vigilance to protect this 300,000 sq ft retail park under construction near Stevenage. Completed but unoccupied units were vulnerable to buildings damage, materials stripping and vandalism, while the large car park was at risk from traveller occupation and fly tipping. We were tasked with assessing risk and protecting the site during the construction phase.

Solution

  • Extensive security audit to identify the site’s unique risks and vulnerabilities - and decide how best to combat them
  • Full Health & Safety and fire risk assessment from our qualified experienced consultants
  • Supplying 24/7 security guarding and mobile patrolling to keep the property safe and secure
  • Access control measures and regular reporting to deter opportunists
  • Construction continued on schedule after delays caused by damage or theft stopped
  • Overnight, out of hours and weekend vulnerabilities eliminated
  • Rigorous access controls solved the problem of theft or unauthorised presence on site
  • Audit trail created to record and protect costly materials and installations
  • The property was fully protected from all intruders until its opening
